Detroit techno pioneer Carl Craig (pictured) is back with an ominous remix of Caribou’s latest single, Your Love Will Set You Free, off the Canadian’s acclaimed sixth studio album, Our Love.
While the original tune is light and optimistic, Carl Craig moves his remix down a darker path. The new, relentlessly sinister bassline changes the hopeful meaning of the title to sound like a dark omen. CC also gives the tune a more defined four-to-the-floor rhythm, which should help endear it to dancefloor fans, all while still maintaining the indie spirit of Caribou’s original vision.
The remix is set for an official digital release on Dec. 10.
